Sometimes things don't work out! Here's how our returns & exchanges work.
Can I Return This?

You're in the window! Return within 20 days of fulfillment for a refund to your original payment method.
Start ReturnYou're outside the 20-day refund window, but within our 30-day store credit window. You'll receive store credit for the return value (less original shipping costs).
Start ReturnYour return window has closed, but you can still resell your carrier through our Pre-Loved Marketplace directly to another customer.
Visit MarketplaceSale items aren't eligible for return, but we're happy to exchange for a different size if it's in stock. Email us and we'll sort you out.
Email UsSale items are final sale. No returns or store credit. If the size isn't right, we can exchange for a different size (if in stock).
Almost Perfect carriers are final sale. No returns or exchanges. They're already loved a little and ready for their forever home.
All international orders (including Canada) are final sale. We can't accept returns outside the US.

The Fine Print
What qualifies for return?
You're absolutely welcome to try on your carrier to make sure the fit is right. We want you to love it!
That said, we can't accept carriers that have been worn beyond a quick try-on. Since we can't resell used carriers (it's a sanitation and safety thing), items are not eligible if they show:
- Pet hair, perfume, food, or bodily fluids
- Signs of washing, laundering, or extended wear
- Alterations or modifications
- Tears, damage, or removed tags
All returns must be in their original condition, with tags attached, inside the original packaging.
What's NOT returnable?
A few categories are final sale:
- Sale items. We'll happily exchange for another size if in stock (just email us). First-time purchase code discounts are the one exception. Those orders are still returnable.
- Almost Perfect carriers. These are already discounted and can't be returned or exchanged.
- International orders (including Canada). Final sale.
- Digital gift cards. Non-returnable and hold no cash value.
- Original shipping charges and Package Protection. Non-refundable.
- Items outside the 30-day window. Ineligible for return or exchange.
Heads up on bundle promos: if you used a promo code that required buying two items, returning one item invalidates the promo. Your refund will reflect paying full price for the item you're keeping.
Can I combine discounts, codes, or orders?
We love a good deal, but unfortunately our discounts don't stack. Only one discount, promo code, or automatic offer (like our bundle discount or site-wide sale) can be applied per order, whichever gives you the biggest savings.
We also aren't able to combine separate orders into one shipment or apply a discount across multiple orders retroactively. Each order stands on its own.

How do I start a return?
Head to our Return Portal to kick things off. A few tips:
- Please ship your carrier in a box, not a poly mailer.
- A flat handling fee (which includes your prepaid return shipping label) will be deducted from your refund, credit, or exchange. No extra shipping to pay out of pocket.
Handling fees by outcome:
- Refund: $15 (shipping + handling)
- Store credit: $5 (shipping + handling)
- Exchange: $7 (shipping + handling)

What happens after you receive my return?
Allow up to 5 business days for inspection, then 2–3 business days for the refund or store credit to land.
Refunds go to your original payment method (or as store credit, depending on your selection in the portal). We don't issue refund checks for returned gifts.
If something doesn't pass inspection, we'll email you with the details. You'll have the option to pay a $10 shipping fee to have the item sent back to you.
Can I cancel or edit my order?
- Cancellations: Email us within 1 hour of placing your order. After that, orders move quickly into fulfillment and we're unable to cancel.
- Edits & Additions: Swap a color, adjust a length, or add an item within the first 24 hours of placing your order.
After those windows close, our team is always happy to help explore other options as needed.
Outside your return window?
Don't worry! You can still resell your carrier through our Pre-Loved Marketplace directly to another hope&plum customer. It's a great way to pass it on and let another family love it.
Shipping delays
We can't control Mother Nature (or the occasional courier hiccup). hope&plum isn't responsible for delays caused by severe weather, natural disasters, or other shipping issues outside of our control.
