You've Got Questions, We've Got Answers

Two lengths? Tell me more!

Our meh dai comes in two lengths, short and long.

Our short length meh dai features a waist band that accommodates waists up to 44" and the shoulder straps are 90" long (to the beginning of the tapered edge).

Our long length meh dai features a waist band that accommodates waists up to 74” and the shoulder straps are 104" long (to the beginning of the tapered edge).

How do I choose the right length?

We recommend basing your length choice on the waist band size. If you are between sizes, we suggest sizing up to ensure you have enough length in the waist band. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on sizing!

Is there a hood?

Yup! Attached to the carrier is an adjustable hood with magnetic snaps to secure it, making it even easier to use!

What is the weight limit?

Our meh dai carrier is safety-tested for use with kids weighing 7 to 45 pounds! It is our highest weight limit out of all of our carriers and truly allows you to carry your babe from infancy through toddlerhood.

I'm plus-size, can I use your meh dai carrier?

Absolutely! Size-inclusivity is a core brand value for us and one of the reasons we started our company. Our long length meh dai can accommodate up to a 74" waist! You can learn more about how our baby carriers work well for plus-size parents here.

What is the difference between your meh dai and your other style baby carriers?

Meh Dais are a more structured carrier option compared to our ring slings and wraps, but they offer a flexible fit without the use of buckles.

For those looking for even more structure and ease, our Lark Baby Carrier, our buckle carrier, adds another layer of convenience. You can explore all our carriers and find the best fit for you on our comparison page!

Is it a Meh Dai, Mei Tai, or Bei Dai?

All three names refer to the same type of carrier! The spelling "Meh Dai" (pronounced meh-dye) is the closest English approximation of the Cantonese pronunciation, so that is the name we use! The word Meh Dai literally means “straps to carry (something on the back)."
