The Lark Carrier is safety tested for babies and toddlers from 10 to 45 pounds! In addition to meeting the lower weight limit, babies need to be in size 3-6 month tops to ensure a proper and safe fit in the Lark Baby Carrier.
No, you can’t! While there are carriers out there that let you face your baby towards the world while wearing, the Lark is not one of them!

We find most families do just fine with front and back carry options. If you find your little one is eager to look at the world when being worn, we recommend a back carry or trying out a hip carry in one of our ring slings!

Absolutely! You can start back carrying with children who have good head control and can sit unassisted, so around 6 months old. The Lark comes with a chest strap, which you’ll put on when you want to back carry.
The IHDI stopped accepting product submissions for certification before the development of the Lark Baby Carrier, so it has not been formally certified.
That said, we’ve made sure the Lark is designed to provide substantial support for your little one’s butt and thighs, which is key for healthy hip development. Unlike ring slings or wraps, you don’t need to worry about getting your baby’s body into that deep M shape—what matters is supporting their thighs so gravity doesn’t pull on their hips (no dangling legs here!).

Each one is sewn locally in Minnesota by a women-owned and operated manufacturer that provides livable wages and supports the community. We offer two lengths/sizes, Short and Long. Our Short waistband accommodates waists up to 45” and our Long waistband accommodates up to 65". Sizing suggestions are based on fitted women's shirt sizes!
